BTW. do you also know his excellent track he contributed to Roach’s concept album Western Spaces (& I do not mean “Across the View”, which is also a stunning track)

Thank you so much for loving me the way that you do. I am always impressed with your words and just so that you know these mean more to me than you’ll ever know. I too love you with all that I am and all that I have. I have been blessed to have you and your family in my life for the past 13 years. Some of my favorite memories are those with Mother and although she is no longer here so I can “re-live” them when I need a good laugh, I carry them with me all of the time. I love sharing those outrageous moments with my new co-workers and watching them laugh until their stomachs hurt. Once again thank you for the post and know that I love you forever!

Love the site! Just been on the trans-siberian to Vladivostok. I really enjoyed the experience and will do it again. Next time in the deep winter. Just thought i’d let you know i read a book on the train called The Linger Longer by Chris Raven and Simon Raven. They’re two guys who drove a 300 pound Ford Sierra to Vladivostok. Crazy! Great book though, it’s made me want to drive to Vladivostok.

You should also check out the VXT, which seems to be approaching the hybrid category from the other side of the spectrum. From what I’ve seen, it may blow the pants off the T5. Not for sale until May though

I am glad I found your site. I stumbled across it looking for information on Richard Burmer.

I was introduced to his music via Hearts of Space (http://hos.com), which I subscribe to.

One of there programs, “WINTER ON THE WIND” , showcases Burmers talents, from his CD Mosaic.

To have died at the age of 50, well….that is young. But he did something with his life that we all aspire to do. He left his mark. He left the world a much more beautiful place for having passed through it.

This is a nice blog, and a nice tribute to Richard. I am sure he has seen it and appreciates it.

Before I leave, is the photo at the top of this blog of Paris KY?

Kevin,
I’m a true Burmer fan, and also had the same response to his death. I just walk around saying “I can’t believe it” to myself. I don’t know why, perhaps because he was so young.Steve Irwin’s death struck me the same way
I played “Across the view” as my wedding song (instead of the traditional wedding songs the bride uses). Everyone loved it and asked about it. I consider that song a true masterpiece, although it didn’t quite fit with the rest of the tape.
I understand it’s re-recorded on “Shining by the River” CD along with other classics of his.Like you, I only have his tapes (worn out from use!). Too bad Amazon is taking advantage of the rarity of this CD with inflated prices…but you can find Across the View on music download sites like Rhapsody (I don’t know about the ones mentioned above).

“Shining By The River - vol 1″ is one of the most spine-chillingly beautiful collections of songs ever put on disc. As Lloyd Barde said on the liner notes: “Stranded on a desert island, this is on top of the list of albums I would want to have with me” I agree and highly recommend it.

Thanks Guy! I didn’t know about emusic, but I’ll check it out now. I only have an old cassette of Bhakti Point, and I’m still in need of several others.
